MPP w/o SK?

Is it possible to just get the MPPSK engine tune and not the exhaust?

I already have an exhaust =/

Did a search and was not able to find the answer, but I am sure this has already been asked.

I am sure most would dealers would want to sell these items together, but hoping there was a success story out there on this.

No - goes hand in hand..

IF your willing to pay the 3k just ditch your exhaust. MPPSK will probably sound better with the added benefit of turning off the sound by changing the mode (comfort stock sound, Sport and Sport + open pipes).

another option is the jB4..

Or buy it and sell the MPPSK exhaust. I'm on the other side, thinking aftermarket exhausts sounds better.

Im rocking the afe power exhaust which also uses the oem e-valve so it has the sound capability.

Darn. I wanted that smooth delivery and warranty. $3k for 35 extra hp is too damn high

Unlikely - already removes resonators and bypasses the silencer...

they pretty much all sound similar once you remove the resonators.

I prefer the sound with resonators

Garage List
BMW sells the tune and exhaust in one part number. Not possible to get it separately because the kit comes with a "magic red envelope" which contains a PIN specific to your VIN that enables coding for the tune on your vehicle.

I doubt any dealer would sell that separately because I assume they need to order the entire kit from BMW AG to obtain the PIN. Maybe ask a local dealer who knows their stuff - they may know a way?

That's why I have a muffler delete instead of a resonator delete lol. Stock-ish sound, just louder. And when you have an exhaust that works and you like it, the last thing you want to do is swap for something else and *hope* you like it. Especially when exhaust tips for the OEM performance exhasut are what $400 or something? Nah b.

I definitely understand OP's dilemma and that's why I'm waiting for aftermarket flash tunes. I want the smooth delivery of an actual flash without the OEM price gouging.

Yep I'm of the same mind, I asked BMW the same question as I've recently fitted the Remus exhaust.

Sadly the answer is no, unless anyone wants the exhaust and not the remap lol.

I'm sure there are plenty of people that want it to pair with their JB products. I saw some for sale on the classifieds for $1500 or so. Price is pretty on par with many other aftermarket catbacks but with 2 flaps instead of one (or none) like other aftermarket systems.

What about buying the kit, selling the exhaust , and then getting the MPE muffler which I believe is quieter than the MPPSK exhaust but louder than the Stock muffler. Not the most cost effective but may serve your needs.

I changed the Sport settings to drive train only. I still get all of the power with a less aggressive throttle, but exhaust valve stays closed until I select Sport +.

Does that eliminate the pops and crack sound. To each their own but that would bother me daily, IMO it makes the car sound cheap. I'd much prefer a very tuned sound.

Yes, with the exhaust valve closed, it sounds like the stock exhaust I had before the MPPSK.

In my case, I was able to get the MPPSK exhaust from a friend separately but now I want the tune. Sucks that BMW doesn't sell it separately!
