Quite a bit of curiosities with your OEM pipe
In watching your video - it's evident to me that someone had that stock inlet pipe off before (don't know if you bought this car new, or had someone work on it in that area earlier) And whoever took it off broke all the mounting points off I've also done this upgrade and here is what my OEM pipe looks like on my 2015 435: > In the 2nd pic you can see where that oval metal pc that you called a 'spacer' is supposed to be - it is actually a reinforcement that is molded into the plastic loop that is part of bottom of pipe near turbo - the loop that you don't have (but you have the reinforcement) which leads me to believe someone broke that loop off your pipe. Pipe should have never just pulled out of turbo - it is held in by that 10mm nut thru the loop > Also, as is evident by pics 1 & 3 there is a second mounting point to your engine right at boss for breather pipe that yours does not have (possibly that broken off also). That bracket on OEM has a metal sleeve that pushes in hole of bracket, a rubber mounting bushing, & a M6 bolt into engine Sleeve 1 13717593171 Rubber Mounting 1 13717593170 Hex bolt with washer M6X25-U2 1 07119905871 Obviously, the new pipe does not have that bracket by design. Doesn't seem to matter as you noted the aluminum pipe is fairly rigid vs. the flexible plastic part > There should have also been a turbo inlet gasket over the end of your OEM, which I can't tell from vid if was there or not?? Gasket 1 13717599291

Ok.. WOW what a response and you know what? You are DEAD on, and bought the car used about 2.5 years ago now.
At some point during the install, this really oddly shaped (sorta half oblong circle) piece of plastic fell out of somewhere and landed on the garage floor. Now that I look at it, I can absolutely tell it is HALF of the flange for the plastic intake pipe, which would also leave that metal ring behind. (which yes, I called a spacer not knowing why it was there!) GREAT call out.. so mine absolutely had the turbo side flange but broke or was broken at some point, I dont know when. Also, you are dead on.. now that I know there was a flange at the breather hose, I can see where it USED to be on the OEM pipe. (I just checked) What I did not see at any point was the turbo inlet gasket..

Sharp.. very sharp. Throttle response seems to be really sharp and quick, with very little delay between pedal input to the motor to the rear wheels.
My poor tires.. *laugh* I am spinning my rear tires more often right now than I probably ever have before combined.

And the next piece is installed... simple and cheap but honestly makes a huge difference.

I have some good news.. there is a pretty darn good chance I will be upgrading my turbo here soon(ish)! I have been talking with Littco from the UK, and then would of course get my custom tune modified from Cary.

I haven't been able to pull any real logs with the intake or radiator change. Its crazy I have probably put 50 miles on my car in 2 months with the lockdown.
I am really hoping to get some track days to pull tune and log info this summer if my local track reopens.

My latest mod video is up.. about a 2min job but really appears to be worth it. Also a HELL of a lot easier and cheaper than pulling my door and side panels off, retrofitting the light channels and LED emiters.

Next up.. The very first upgrade to my car was a M4 style trunk lip that I had painted to match. Loved it, looks great.. but now that I have gone carbon fiber, and have the CS hood in CF as well, this new trunk lip is perfect!
Anyone want a M4 style trunk lip in mineral grey? 8)
