Battery
Hi All,
Has anyone replaced their battery with something more generic? I know that bmw prefer the agm ones due to stop start. With that disabled do I still require that type of battery or can go with the RACV / cheaper battery? |

You can use any battery so long as you match the Ah closely. More CCA also help. If you had a 95 Ah it would be wise to replace with another 95 Ah. It also depends on what your car will take come battery registration and programming. If lead acid is an option it will be listed. It's not always necessarily cheaper than AGM. AGM are less prone to sulfation and it's the technology and longevity you're investing in. A bit like saying you could have a cheap tire for $50 that will net you 10k miles and replace with another one to get to 20k miles or you could buy the $100 tire to net 30k miles. Some brands are more reliable than others. A non OEM one doesn't always mean you'd be screwed over.
