Question Looking at a... 2013 335i Xdrive. M Sport package.

Hey guys, been a bit since I posted, hope all is well.
I'm going to go look at a 2013 BMW 3 Series 4dr Sdn 335i xDrive AWD, Auto, W/ M sport package. Estoril Blue.
Car has 70k miles. Clean 1 owner and seems like basic services have been done according to Carfax... i did not see any major ones?
Wanted to know what else to look for?
Dealer wants $19k, so what is a legitimate out the door offer to make?
Also what major maintenance items should i check for to see if they were performed?
Thanks!

Try to find a 14 or newer. You'll be making less power with that PWG unit, unless you don't care about that stuff.

I know used car prices are up but that 19K seems high especially with 70k miles. Visual inspection can only tell you so much so if allowed, have the car put up on a lift and looked over by a mechanic. It's worth the $100-$150 if you really love the car!

I 100% agree with getting a ppi if you're serious about it. Go on yelp and find a good local mechanic doing ppi's for ~100-150.

Is the car at a bmw dealership or a generic used car dealership? Either way kbb price is 16-19k. I would first get a ppi then use any sort of problems/maintenance items found from that as leverage and offer them $15k.

How long has the car been up for sale? If it was posted recently, I would wait a week or 2 for them to cut the price. I've usually seen ~$500 price drops every ~1-2 weeks. Once it comes down to $17k you can approach them again asking for a ppi then give them your offer.

Used values are all over the place right now. I would definitely recommend the PPI. I did not do this and well, yeah poor decision in one of two ways. Either I overpayed or I should have walked away, the body and interior were clean, dealer stated they replaced some stuff but once I started getting into it basically no maintenance was done other than what was required. I picked up a 2013 335xi in white with black interior, sport package for 16k, 103k on the clock. I'm about 4500 in parts into the car so far, including MHD super tune package, front mount, downpipe, shocks struts and springs, plus I've done an oil change, trans pan and fluid change and coils and plugs on the way. Definitely a lesson to be learned. I realize that about half of what I spent was for aftermarket upgrades I was going to do anyways but I certainly would have paid a couple thousand less or looked at a different car. Good lesson learned for me, I love the car and I'm gonna set it up to last me a long time so I don't have any buyers remorse, just a little frustrated at the things I missed in my research.

Check the Radiator, mine is literally finless in the bottom two rows and will need to be replaced, I've never see a radiator crumble like that, easy saturday project and 200 bucks but it's annoying. Also make sure you replace the expansion tank hose, I've read they fail and cause a ton of issues, 36 bucks at FCP Euro and you'll be set. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ve-17128570061

Additionally a charge pipe upgrade would be cheap and easy insurance, the OEM is made of plastic and explodes leaving you stranded on the side of the road at stock boost levels, it's about 200 bucks and an aluminum one will keep you in operation.

+1, Prepurchase inspection(PPI) will be the best money spent

is it 19K+tx US? for a 2013 with 70K miles?

I'm not better than anybody else but IMO it seems pretty expensive considering I've paid my 2015 335i Xdrive with Mperformance pkg 1 and 2, 78K km (not miles) for 22K + tx CND. car has been inspected before the purchase and everything was fine.

so either I've got a hell of a deal or, 19K for a 2013 with 70K miles is too expensive
