Nothing wrong with the BMS filter, open air intakes on this car need a tune.
Brand does not matter in this case.

If you do not have a tune, go with a closed box intake

It gave me problems when I had a JB4. The response I got from Burger was, “yeah, that sometimes happens”. I’ve had BM3 for a year and it had only given me problems, rough idle, hard start, stuttering and codes. I put the stock box and new filter on and it all goes away....

Maybe it works on some cars, but my does not like it. Oh well.

I had it on for a week and was fine i guess maybe something got loose so at first i didn't blame the intake but then i switched to stock airbox and boom car ran fine. I also had a custom tune with a tuner knowing about the bms intake and he tried to correct for it and i still was running rich until i put the stock airbox back on. Just went to the track and logged and i believe i need to put the bms filter on turbo aint breathing like it needs to be.

Other than the intake related CEL, how is the BPC custom tune compared to the OTS stage 2 tune?

Umm it's pretty good. Definitely a difference in power. Bob over there is a good guy and has been responding to my commands and stuff and making sure everything is alright with any question I have. With his tune on 93 octane I was running with Shelby gt350s and stock m3 and stuff so I'd say it's pretty good.

A general question for BM3...

I'm approaching the end of my extended warranty so I've considered doing a tune along with intercooler, charge pipe, and catless downpipe.

Will BM3 remove a CEL while using the stock map? The reason I ask is because I'll probably run a "tune" on the street, but revert back to a stock tune when I am tracking the car.

I understand that in order to pass emissions, I'll have to put the factory downpipe back in and run a stock tune.

As of right now, the answer is no. They are working on setting up the optional configuration for the stock tune that allows you to choose CEL removal or not. Currently, it's only available for the OTS maps. One suggestion though, you can run the stock M2 Map and set the config to remove the catless CEL. That would be a great track tune.

Not if it gets hooked up to read readiness codes

Sorry to revive a dead thread but some states allow 1 state to be not-ready. Does anyone know if BM3 isolates just that state or is it everything?

Yes you can now configure custom settings for all tunes including your stock tune.
