Enzo's tune in NY will go into readiness. He said he's had a few people pass emissions with it already. I think it just speeds up the cycle. He showed me on my car when the car is on but not started it shows as not ready, then when you start the car it essentially takes a few secs then goes to ready.

Can anyone tell me which ones would work for an N55?

Thanks

Did anyone ever figure this out? I'm now considering buying a used engine wiring harness on eBay and cutting off the connection I need.

Doesn’t work on all cars... I used the very same sim that has been used on quite a few F30’s and N55 motor’s and it did not work on my car. Must’ve just been one of the unlucky ones it didn’t work on... I had to swap the downpipe on my F30 N55 XDrive to pass emissions. Quite the pain in the ass, but now I don’t have to worry about it ever again with how I reregistered my car. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t wait until the last minute like me and have a backup plan.

Unfortunately I had the exact same experience...some cars don't fall for it and mine was one of them.
So ya, I basically had to remove the dp and put it back on and that was a royal pain.

It was pretty easy. Cut one wire on the o2 sensor and posi-tap two more.
See I installed mine on the harness side and then had my mechanic solder the wires in place
I was debating which side to go off of. I decided o2 because I can take it off and throw the o2 sensor away and no one would know it was there.

The black catsim wire goes to the grey o2 wire, red wire to red wire, white from catsim goes to black o2 on the o2 side, yellow from catsim goes to black o2 on the harness side.
Can you provide me with more detailed explanations to the installation , my mechanic wanted to see it cause we are deciding o2 spacers vs CatSim. And I believe catsim by area 74 is the same with "VRSF dp fix"? And they have the same wires right?

Thank you in advance

If the light blinks, it’s working. If it stays on solid, it’s not.

The light never started blinking on the sim and my CEL never went away. It just didn’t work on my car. Oh well, I reregistered it in a place with no emissions testing. Lesson learned.

Damn! I might have the same problem. Installed it, solid blue LED.
Got a few weird codes like:
12A308 - lambda probe after catalytic converter, dynamics, from rich to lean: slow reaction
12AF20 - no description found

I believe the CEL went away, but I never checked for readiness. Couldn't find much info on those errors so I pulled it off for now. Planning on installing again soon for more testing. I'd hate to have to removed the catless for emissions testing.

Anyone running the dp fix at all times?

They say you can run the catsim/vrsf downpipe fix all the time now as they dont mess with the fuel trims like the n54 dp fix. With that said if i was you unless you have no other way to run to delete the cel and hate seeing it i would take it off and only install it for emissions. Also depending on your tune make sure you flash back to stock or set jb4 to map 0 as most tunes will not allow readiness. Let me know if you get it to work as ive heard with the 2014+ EWG cars have had issues getting it to work.

It worked for me! I used posi-taps to connect the iO2 sim to my O2 sensor. Once attached, and the car was running, the green light would illuminate sporadically (not constant, not flashing steadily). Drove for 20 miles. Turned my car off. Started the engine again and the CEL was gone. Passed my inspection! I’m happy to answer any questions anyone might have too. Feel free to reach out.

Chef are you 2014+ EWG? Do you have installation instructions using the positaps?

I have a 2012. Not sure if it’s pwg or ewg. For the posi-taps, I threaded the exposed wires from the simulator through the female type opening of the positaps, then used the tooth-like part to pierce the corresponding wire on the engine wiring harness

Ah...if you are 2012 then you are PWG. My wiring is going to be different. I wasn't looking for how to use posi-taps but was wondering if you had a wiring diagram. No worries though since my wiring is going to be different.

The cat sim won't work on 2014 and up EWG cars nor will it work on the s55 cars. There have been numerous issues when I built the plug and play devices and all the 2014 cars could not set all the monitors into readiness. ALL 100% pwg cars work with the sim no issues.

I've asked area 7 4 numerous times what the issue is with the newer cars and they only answered once by saying it "should" work.

It's nice having a plug n play solution too bad I can't source the terminals anymore.

DAMMIT!! Well at least I don't have to get smog checked until December 2019. Hopefully there will be a fix for it by then. If not I may just pony up for an Enzo tune.

On a side note I will have a VRSF/CATsim DP fix available soon.

Contact Enzo I was told he can tweak it via ecu tune.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the so called VRSF down pipe fix is the same exact one that is made by a r e a 74 then are just rebranding it.

Yep I realized that the VRSF is the same as Area 74 as soon as I saw it. Oh well. Hopefully I cna sell it to a PWG owner and recoup most of my expense. It's brand new, never been used.
