First, an update. For some reason one of the Low Beams just stopped working; it's for sure a bulb defect because I've checked the connections and the other LED and the halogens all work in that plug. So I'll be returning it and ordering a different set that was rated much higher on Amazon that I noted below.

I have not yet done any coding since I haven't had time to find where I put my wifi OBD unit, but will probably be doing the checks and bulb types when I do find it. No OBD errors after a 30-40 minute drive with the lights and fogs on, except for the burnt out low beam that seems to be a broken bulb and not a coding issue. Can't say if there's any flickering from warm checks, however--anyone know if warm checks without coding would result in errors? I haven't seen any--yet.

Here are the bulbs I used (a mix of eBay and Amazon purchases based on the various threads and blogs I've read):

Low Beams
Originally purchased these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As I mentioned above, one of the bulbs stopped working so I've ordered these which have far better reviews anyway:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Fog Lamps
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Park Lamps and DRLs
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Canbus-H...72.m2749.l2649

(this links to the "amber" set but I have the white) https://www.ebay.com/itm/PWY24W-SAMS...72.m2749.l2649

Reverse Lamps

There are three separate reasons for coding. One is to eliminate warnings of burnt out bulbs because the system doesn't detect the LED as being a bulb. The next is to prevent the lamps from blinking every few minutes. You won't know it's happening because you can't see the lights when you're driving. Everyone else will. The last is to change the voltage supplied to the bulbs from a pulsed DC to a constant DC by coding them 'is LED'. If you don't it will cause hyper flashing with some LEDs.

It's above and to the left of your left knee. If it was a snake it would have bit you every time you got into the car.

Thanks for explaining--I'll be coding for sure then. As for what I meant when I didn't have time to find my OBD unit, I meant the actual wifi OBD unit I purchased online to do the coding via app; sometimes being too organized works against you and you actually have a harder time finding where you kept things.

I keep mine in the small compartment on the lower left of the dashboard. That way I know where it is when I need it, which just happens to be less than a foot away from the port.

Good idea—I think I'll do just that. I found the unit earlier and did the coding; was incredibly easy. Now I just need to receive the new low beams and code them as well.

You don't need to wait to code them. Halogens will work fine even if coded for LED. They just won't register a blown bulb should that occur.

I see this hyper flashing with the retrofitted oil field semi trucks. They ignorantly drive down the highways with their headlights looking like they belong in a disco.

They also provide another service to the highway community by either turning in front of you so you have to slam on your brakes or pulling out in front of you so you have to slam on your brakes. Keeps you sharp and on your toes (unless you don't brake in time and get decapitated like a local did a year or so ago...).

Wow that looks great! I picked up a CPO 2016 328i GT Xdrive back in May that's Glacier silver and I feel like it could use something to sharpen up the look a bit. That's odd for me as I drove a 2006 Acura TL for the last 13 years and never wanted to change its look.

remap

sure, yes in the UK, went to BW chiptune in Hayes. Sterling job, still very smooth and boy does it pick up quick and fly.
I tried a DTUK box for a while, had a few issues of going into limp mode, it was mainly so I could remove it for dealer servicing. It became a pain when the N57 put one of its plug in point at the back if the engine near the bulkhead.
Jason at BW really knows what he's doing with BMW's after a lot of research and recommendations i chose him and have not been disappointed. Absolutely no issues so far. I'll post some 0-60s etc. bit later but expecting very close to 4secs...

0-60 around 4s that would be insane. Keep us updated.

Really changed the look of the car. No offset issues, lug nuts worked no problem, and no clearance issues.

I've also got tints in the car (35 in back and 35 in front), and M Sport Steering Wheel goes on in a couple weeks. Slowly but surely...
Hi All,

Almost a year later, and added some more subtle mods to the car...

DINAN Stage 1 Tuner & Freeflow Exhaust
Carbon Rear Wing
Black M Grills

All work done @ BMW in NJ, and very pleased with them.

Think it's the perfect dad-sleeper car.

Any questions, let me know !

Yours looks like it matched the grlle or is darker than the rest of the trim in the foglight area. I though it might have been aftermarket.

Recently picked up this 328i GT, first order of business was 20% Xpel film all around. Next up will be black out grill, debadge, and swap out the halogen bulbs with XPE Golds. I'm genuinely surprised for how well optioned this car was that it lacks HIDs.
