Had my car in for a dyno for the second time, as I wanted to see where I'm at before BM3.
Since last time, all I did was an open air intake and the 200 cell cat - didn't expect much, maybe 15hp tops. Happy to see I'm up to 393bhp now. Apart from the addictive sound, sharper throttle response and improved turbo health, the extra power was a bonus. Going back at some point once BM3 has been installed and will do runs for stage 1 and stage 2. Any idea what can be expected on top of 393bhp? They warned me that the bottleneck is the intercooler above 400, and recommended that I consider a good charge cooler from Wagner instead. I need to read into that. If I do that, I will put the LED tail lights on hold. The red line is the previous reading from last year, just mppsk:

The cooling on the B58 will have no issues with 450-500bhp. No upgrade required.
The High pressure fuel pump is more of an issue. The stock pump starts to reach the limit at 450bhp

Echo as above, Remember do a few pulls between stage 1 and 2 flash's. They take a few pulls to adapt.
Good power regardless will be intresting to see what stage 1 makes, stage 2 is ovbs going to be a bigger jump but looks like the car has a strong engine in it. |

I'm amazed you managed to get the dyno done, have been thinking of getting mine done at Unicorn at Stockport, but just assumed that since it isn't an essential shop, it would therefore be closed. So i'm guessing they are all open then !!, though not sure what I'd say by the boys in blue if i managed to get stopped on the twenty mile journey !!

It's a garage so can be open as it's essential business. Combined the visit with having a rattle checked which was present since downpipe install, so technically more than just fun

Run stage 2+ and E30 in the damp and you'll realise that is a sensible limit for the F30/F31s with RWD. Wheelspin at 60+ is quite concerning when you're testing.
I'm personally aiming for 600+ but that's more stupidity than anything.

Always thought it a bit odd that the smaller, lighter 1 and 2 series get the higher 340BHP tune than the 3 and 4s 326. Hell even the (non M lite 540i) 5 series got 335BHP? Then the 6 IIRC has the same 326?! Go figure!
