Transmission Upgrade?

So my transmission died and now I have to either replace it or rebuild it. If I rebuild it can the clutch packs be upgraded? If I change it, is there a direct fit replacement that can handle more abuse? It’s a 340i so it’s a 8hp50
Thanks

Damn sorry to hear that, HP70 is becoming a common and cost effective replacement, might be worth thinking about

Do you know how it died? What stg XHP tune were you running and how much power were you putting down?

There's 2 details threads in this forum on swapping over the HP70, not a full direct fit - requires some modifications/different flywheel and some recoding of the ECUs but certainly do-able.

I think my mistake was not flashing xHP. Idk how much power it was only a stage 2 bm3.

Yeah...pay to play. 8HP70 is another option. The reality tho is that your stock trans should be able to handle stage 2.

the pure drivetrain transmission costs alot but can handle a ton of hp. their stage 2 guys are regularly launching near 1000hp with no issues

I sent an email to jacks transmissions to see if their rebuild is compatible. If it is I'm sure that will be because the clutch.packs are interchangeable. Ill update when I hear back from them.
