Style 437m wheels painted/powder coated

Hello ladies and gents, quick request to see if anyone has already done what I'm after doing. I have a set of 437m wheels on my car (M3/M4 wheels), they're the common black/polished faces at the moment but they are a little untidy so I'm going to get them refurbished.

However, I'm not a huge fan of polished faces (because of durability mainly) so I'm going to have them powder coated. I'm really leaning towards doing them in silver, I know everyone loves grey/black wheels but I reckon a nice fresh silver will suit them, so my question, has anyone refurbished their 437m wheels (in silver?) and if so, have you got some pictures to share?

Quick shot of mine at the moment

Thanks in advance!

I know you said silver but... just a google search and against that orange I'd go black.

You'll probably get a better answer if you posted it on the relevant F80 forum

I'm in exactly same boat as you and thinking I may go silver..

When I got them a couple of years ago, I found a few f30/31 with the silver version on.. they looked great too.

Will see if I can find any

Damn those wheels look good. Can you just whack them on a (lowered?!) F3X?

I've got them on my f31 with ACS springs..

Slightly rub on full lock when parking is the only issue (non issue to me) I have found.

What tyre sizes have you got?
I fit mine 2 weeks ago onto a F31 with ACS springs and haven't noticed any issues yet.
I fit PS4S's 235/40/19 & 265/35/19.

Yeah, I'm running M3 tyres too so just bought the full lot and chucked them on. Perfect fitment for me, flush with the arches, bit of concave on the rear and they sit nice.

I'm running Bilstein coilovers, as you can see it's wound down a fair bit but no issues at all.

I've got the same setup.. had to get those tyre sizes due to the X-drive.

To be honest I forgot those other forums were up the top there but I always assumed I had to register for each one, I didn't realise I could post on them all.

I'm just not a fan of black wheels, the darker they are the less detail you see on them. I've had grey done on my other cars but I fancy going back to old skool silver on these.

They look tidy, I prefer that finish to my ones, if I had the lighter versions I might not be in such a hurry to get them refurbished.

That's the ticket! Stalked the guys profile, they look spot on, really highlight the concave rears. I think that's my mind made up! Thanks for sharing that

On that colour of car id recommend bmw donnington grey. It’s a very light shade of grey. Quite close to ferric grey but a touch lighter. Awesome combination of colours.

If anybody has any questions about the refurbishment process or advice please feel free to ask away.

FYI, if your looking wheels refurbished, always make sure to pick a place that does the 3 stage system. Powder primer , wet paint ,acrylic powder clear.

@Alloyboy what's your thoughts on trying to maintain a colour finish that's as close to OEM diamond cut colour scheme but isn't diamond cut?

I have a set of 437m which are now starting to corrode as per normal diamond cut process and I'd like to keep an OEM colour scheme which will last more than 18 months!

This is how unlucky you can be. 750 miles on a brand new 2020 Cayenne turbo. One stone chip and the corrosion has made an entrance. Refused under Porsche warranty as it was caused by an external influence

Oh and some naked 666m wheels. You can clearly see they are diamond cut then burnished to achieve a near chrome effect.
