Turbo to down-pipe v-band clamp issues.
I wanted to go stage 2 on my car and figured I would do all the work myself. I've done a full exhaust and air intake and figured i could do it myself . I went to go take off the top V band clamp and with my ultimate wisdom and not using penetrating oil, heard a snap and I broke the welds on the nut for the clamp. As I have an xDrive car it's crammed under there and can't figure out a way to hold the nut and get it off at the same time. If anyone had this happen to them or has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Where is the best place to get a new v-band clamp? I wanted to get it done this week but I don't think it's happening. Also what was the method for cutting it?

You dont need a new V-band. If you cut the bolt, you just need a new screw and bolt from a hardware store. When you put everything back together, you should reorient the vband so you can access the bolt side from the top of the engine bay. Then you can use a wrench or a socket or something to hold the screw while you tighten the bolt.

I was in the exact same situation, (even same x-car) a couple of days ago, i ended up using a dremel to cut the vband, my car is from the mid west so theres a lot of rust. Found out fcp euro carries those bands in stock, ordered 2nd day for 53 bucks[IMG][/IMG]
