My dealer said the new fobs would be available in Q1 and they'd call me when available.

Not heard anything yet.

good news mate. I assume there's no real way to know they're switched off when remote really but it's a huge and very comforting step forwards.

I hate my comfort access I find it offers me nothing but causes plenty of inconvenience.

How does it inconvenience you, you can still lock and unlock the car in the usual way?

In too many ways to mention and I'm not getting into some circular argument with you over it.

I don't like it at all if that's OK with you?

Genuine question and I'm certainly not going to argue...any chance you can tell me why you wouldn't have it again....i was considering it if/when I upgrade. PM me if you prefer!

Cheers

When they said this 'fix' is only available at present for the the 5 & 6 series, I don't suppose you know if this relates to the F10 & F06 or the G30 & G32?

Which dealer was it if you don't mind sharing, happy to try and get some confirmation which may help others.

Memory says there was a very wide availability but that was a few months ago, I've been to sleep a few times since.

Have a word with Jamie at Lloyds Cockermouth, he found the info and also complained that punters get the griff before the dealers.

Cheers.

Have to admit it’s not something I’d want. Too little benefit for the risk involved. Also I’m old school and have to physically check the door is locked before I walk away

Tried that on Fat Kid 1’s focus and it unlocked , had to put the keys inside and go back to check ……

I will check this tomorrow, where did the info re 70% come from?

Ok, so my mate has heard of these rumours, but as yet there's no official "deal" from BMW UK and nothing listed as an optional upgrade with BMW contributions or anything.

So if you went into BMW there would be no knowledge of this key upgrade, and certainly no pricing details.

Sorry

I noticed on Saturday whilst washing the car that with key on the front step and the car 3 feet away it wouldn't open the doors I had to have them on me for the door to open.

The car was updated to the latest istep in Feb thought it was strange but welcome none the less.

I've tried too, so unless the key is relatively close to the house door and the car close to the main door, I can't understand how this works. Unless the repeater boosts the signal?
