Installed H&R spacers a week back, and I feel like the ride isn't as stiff. Is this realistic due to the reduction in effective spring rate or most likely me being paranoid?

Indeed. since the spacers push the wheel out, the wheel has more leverage on your spring- reducing your effective spring rate. So it's not in your head.
