Never did the official ceramic coating. Thought it was too much $$$$, so after researching I recently added to my final step of wash/wax/etc to use Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray. I’ve been very impressed with it.

After a rain body still looks clean and the general areas that leave residue after a rain the ceramic spray can be used as a quick detail and everything cleans up easily.

Recently Project Farm made a review of various waxes and ceramic coatings, I recommend to watch it;

Basically, there is a huge variance of quality between brands of ceramic coats.

I'm not sure I'd call many of those ceramic coatings. However, what was once a clearly defined category of paint protection has become diluted my corporate marketing departments and has become almost meaningless.

Many of those products I'd define as durable sealants with ceramic ingredients blended in to make it behave in a certain way. Some may not have any more durability than traditional sealants.

I still try to go with the definition of a coating being those multi-year products in the little glass bottles with the really high SiO2 content which physically bonds to the paint. There are some "lite" coatings like Gyeon CanCoat and CarPro CQuartz Lite which are 12+ month durability products which kind of blur the lines a bit.
