Removed my tail light tint to pass a safety inspection and now I want to get it tinted again. But, I want some opinions on what do you guys prefer.

Here is my old tail light tint and another f30 member tint that I found.
The dark tail light tint is mine.

I think it looks best stock. Tinting tail lights is asking to get pulled over and who needs to give the cops one more reason lol....I did that on one of my cars and never again.

That being said, if you're dead set on it I would go with the lighter one

I enjoy the tint! That way, when I accidentally rear end you, it's still your fault!

I personally prefer the slightly lighter one (so the second image). To me, it almost looks OEM (so kind of like OEM+), whereas the full darker tint, it looks aftermarket 100% (not that there's anything wrong with that either, just different look)

I don't know the laws regarding tail light tinting in Ontario .... however if that was a concern, the second (lighter) one would probably attract less attention from the cops.

with a real dark tint when you step on the brakes does it illuminate bright enough to warn the person in back of you to stop before he misses the normal brightness and could possibly risk him or her from rear ending you. Is tint safe on a brake light? I'd never do it. you want the bright brake lights in the eyes of the people behind you so that they don't crash into you.

Right. What good is a real dark tint when it gets smashed in and it is the tinted cars fault?

I thought about tinting my tail lights, then I remembered I'm not in my '98 Civic anymore.

Tinting taillights is a dumb idea, IMO. Why increase the risk of being rear-ended, it's high enough already with all the idiots on their phones...........

About as much good as his insurance when his coverage is denied for tinting the lights.

IF you really think you must tint - then definitely the lighter tint and preferably even lighter than that (see NooBish AbbZ's example).

Too dark looks just cheap, not to mention the safety and legal risks.

Another vote for no tints here. Dark tinted tail lights to me just look crap as you loose any flow of lines of the body and lights that were there by design.

I'm actually pro-tints. Don't make them too tinted though, looks tacky when they're too blacked out + smaller chance of police stopping you.

I did mine the lightest shade I could find. I did not want to make my brake lights unsafe. I just like the way the darker lights pop on a white car. It all comes down to personal preference[IMG][/IMG]

Like the way your looks and might get the same. Although, I see many people with blacked out tail light tints and I don't know how is it possible to rear end somebody just because of a dark tint. If that does happen, your a terrible driver.. Do you guys not see a dark tail light tint light up???

Someone rear-ends you because they can't see your blacked out taillights, and you are a terrible driver??? Give your head a shake....
