JB4, down pipes and meth are perfectly safe. But then, I think sky diving is safe. Different perspectives.

He was not implying that it was anywhere near 450. He was countering jrdoming’s assertion that intakes and dp’s are simply noise makers.

My current thinking is add WMI (ordered). See how traction is with JB4/Meth and maybe go for an M-Perf LSD. Wait for the ECU flash world to settle and then maybe a Pure Turbo stage 2 if I haven't come to my senses yet. DP if necessary. That should be pretty close.

I really do like Mustangs, but I consider them a younger man's car. The last one I drove was a '66. The last one I drove in was a '68 Shelby GT500 KR.

Agreed, the potential is huge with the B58 but BMW threw roadblocks on every aspect. From the ECU to the fuel pump to the low torque rated 8 speed.

Meth imo is fine if you're looking at 800+ to the wheels but its silly how crippled this car is on pump gas (currently)

The new GT is a really nice car, and nicer than the 3 in some respect. I'm ZL1 biased, but the 5.0 coyote with a blower is a really nice cheap combo for massive numbers

Only option for real power gain at the moment and its not that bad at all i ran meth for 2 years on my previous car. When back-end flash is released for the JB4 then maybe ethanol blenders will have a better chance of making more power without running meth.

Agreed. We'll have to see how things pan out in the ECU flash, Trans Flash world. It may turn out to be more trouble than it is worth, but maybe someone will find a working formula.

I've heard some great things about the 2018 GT. My perspective on "sporty" cars is that manufacturers either have to stay "pure" on performance (Porsche, for example, and maybe M-cars) or they compromise to appeal to a broader audience (I know Porsche does this too). Pony cars win on muscle, but lag on luxury & style IMO. The 3 series is a significant compromise and is largely defined by how it is optioned. That's fine with me. I like/need a luxury/sport/race/family 4-door sedan at this stage in my life and the 3 series is a pretty good affordable compromise. Adding power is mostly just for fun; fun to learn about, fun to install, and fun to drive.

450hp will be a jerky ride unless the torque limiters are gone. I am around 380hp and get some jerkiness getting worse as winter arrives.

Saw a thread for an m140 with mission performance flash. Believe he made 84whp stock cats with a baseline of ~300. That'll be low 400s with DP. I'd skip meth and go pure turbo to get up to the 430 range.

Had meth on my 335is and catless. Not the best daily.

Use a huge shot of nitrous. 150 shot should do it. It's cheap and easy horse power. What could go wrong?

Depends. If you run the additive maps it can be jerky. If you run the absolute maps like 6 and 7 its actually 5x smoother overall and the transmission does not feel jerky or harsh at all. After switching from map 5 to 7 i also notice the tone of my car has settled down it doesn't sound as aggressive or poppy as before, but it runs very smooth all around even when i was testing map 6 prior to installing my meth.

Some uk tuners seems to be getting 100-120 hp gains with tune+decat. Probably need 93+ octane.

Think a transmission flash is needed to avoid jerky shift behaviour
