What's the point of the button, why doesn't the filler cap cover just lock/unlock with the central locking like other models? That little green cord doesn't look like it would stand up to more than a handful of uses.

The tank is pressurised and sealed so it needs to equalise the pressure before being opened (like a spaceship 😛.
This makes it safe for the fuel to be stored in the tank for a long time, ie because you do lots of short electric only journeys. |

As mentioned it is likely to pressurise the fuel tank, prevents water getting in.
All 3 series have the emergency green cord thing, that's nothing new. Basically if anyone tries o circumvent the correct method, they jam the flap.. And? |
