Oh well.
In sport mode it is very loud. I wouldn't want to drive into a residential neighborhood at night with it. In comfort it's fine, not obnoxiously loud after the first 30 seconds of start-up. (It's always loud at start-up.)

I just finished a 2000 mile Thanksgiving road trip with passengers in the car

I can say that Comfort mode on the highway is a little noisier than stock. However, it's still quiet (enough). The extra torque is great. Comfort is very drivable for highway cruising.

Sport mode... well, the passengers know. It's a loud drone. They don't like it.

The M cars are smart enough to close the valves even in Sport mode if the car is just cruising, but the MPPSK isn't that smart. We get the drone.

When I drive solo, I'm in Sport 99% of the time

When I have passengers, I'm in Comfort 99% of the time

I'm leasing a 2017 340i and realllllly want the MPPSK lol.

Not sure if I want to spend the money out of pocket to get it or wait to see if the new G20 would offer a M-Performance exhaust option or MPPSK as well and just wait until then to get one port installed.

I need advice lol.

Port installed is always the best option if you are leasing.
My MPPSK + M Performance package was an additional $30/month.

And I unplugged both valves.
Start up is insane.

Wow that's nothing for what you're getting, I regret not doing it then.

Completely slipped my mind while ordering.

I think the performance exhaust it too long for my taste. Are there any possibilities to match to the length of the stock exhaust? I mean, the end pipe is sticking too far out above the rear bumper.

I believe the exhaust finishers can be adjusted somewhat. Not sure how much though.

Hey guys, might have a silly question but my 2017 440i came with M power kit from the dealer. I coded my car last week, will this have any affect on this?

Thanks,
Evan

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm doing a European Delivery for a 2018 340i and I have included MPPSK as an option. My questions are:

1. Will it already be installed on the car when I pick up the car at Welt or will they only install the parts after I drop off the car at Port?
2. If they do install the parts at Port, what would they do with the stock parts they remove?

1: Unsure, but I THINK you'd have it on in Germany. Because most of the port 'prep' will be done before you pick it up as well.
2: Same thing they do with every car they port install it on: Recycle them, most likely.

Just went to Town&Country BMW in Toronto Markham, and asked they to give me the quote for mppsk and install. For the kit, they said it's on sale, they gave me for 3500cad + tax with chrome tip, seems not bad. But they quote me 7 hours of install, lol. Thats so bullshit, guess they don't want to discount after all.

sounds about right, when my dealership installed the mppsk it took about 6 hours mostly due to the software update.

but my shop only charge me for an hour work since the technician was able to do other work during that time.

I'd like to know what their Labor rate is. I paid $187.85 for the exhaust install and $149.95 for the software update. It's been many years but when I worked at a Dealer they paid tech's and billed customers by book time not actual time spent on a job. The Master Tech's who could do a particular job extremely fast due to having done it a thousand times were paid the same amount of time for that particular job as an apprentice who was just learning the trade and would need more time to complete the job. Typically if the time guide paid one hour for a specific job a Master Tech would do it in a half hour and an apprentice might take two hours the first time they did the job, that didn't matter to the customer or the dealer because both party's knew going into the job how many hours would be billed, is this not still the case? The short version is why are Dealers not all charging the same to install MPPSK, I know for a fact that if for some reason they have to reinstall the software in a Warranty situation they will all get paid the same amount of time by BMW to do it and it won't have anything to do with how long it actually takes the Tech.

So finally installed at Town+Country BMW Toronto. The total is 5288 after tax, 480 for labor. Took my car in at 7:30 am, and car is ready at 2 pm.

Ordered mine then realized I wanted to add the M-Power Exhaust and they were able to add it as a Port Installed Accessory. I would imagine they might be able to do the MPPSK.

BTW - I just had the MPPSK installed yesterday at a local dealership. They removed the M Exhaust, installed the complete new exhaust system plus the software for about $2500.
