Makes sense as we have drivetrain components to consider, in the front axle. NVH for xDrive, will be different vs. RWD and stiffening up bushing could add more negative interference, even into the steering.

I note on latest BMW models a lot have additional damping elements fitted to the front struts to reduce NVH, help eliminate steering vibrations.

ACS/Bilstein B6 dampers in the first instance before anything else. I hated the roll in the 335d and switched to uprated acs springs and bilstein b8 but ride was harsh and roads were shit.
I couldn't live with it and changed the car. In retrospect after over 3k spent on the car I realised if it doesn't handle the way I want oem best to switch to a car that does.

It's a lot cheaper to just slow down a bit.
Guaranteed less roll.

Next you'll be telling us to buy a car with a 1.6 or a 2.0 litre engine, nah I'll put up with the body roll

I'd go for an M135 rear anti roll bar. In fact I did!

It's not too expensive, direct swap, and shifts the handling slightly more rear wards too, making it more fun, without being unpredictable or oversteery. I'd say it makes the xDrive feel more like the RWD F31s.

If you do the front ARB then it'll make the car more understeery which is not ideal, and worse than body roll IMO.

I think i will go down this route ... I had a F31 320d xdrive before my current car for a couple of years with no mods.
I think your explanation of the result is exactly what i am looking for.

I wonder could you fit the springs, dampers and ARB's from the M3 to a 335d?

Only if you fit the entire subframes as well.

Goes to show just how bespoke the M3 is to the normal 3 series

Yep. M3 has different subframes, track widths, bushing, etc.

It's one of the reasons that people inadvertently screw-up the geo when fitting F8X front arms.
