Just traded in my 2004 545i 6-sp manual for this 2013 335xi Sport Line. Thought I'd really miss the V8 but gotta say, driving this car - even in auto - is a dream. Just popped in the black grilles the other day as I personally feel it makes a massive difference. I'd love to figure out how to get those silver slats by the fogs black.

Thanks, Blubaron.
I actually did give them a slight pull but the last thing I wanted to do was break it. I'd love to know if someone can confirm they will pop out.

Google the whisker removal. I think someone posted it awhile back.

You are right. They just pop out. I stopped by my mechanic today and with the help of a little pick type tool, he got them out for me. So I just sprayed them with a matte black and put them back in....

Car came with the tints, but I think it's factory tinted. My best guess is that's no more than 35%. I've had 20% and this certainly isn't that dark. I'll snap a side shot tomorrow and post it for you.

Orange !
just got my 2014 a few months ago. was looking online for weeks at 335ix for sale all over the US - looking for one that had all the options I wanted (Msport, DHP, 8AT and sport brake), and that hopefully would be an interesting color. My e46 325ci is white, and my previous 2 cars were black, and I wanted a car that was a different color. BMW doesn't make it easy. it was hard to find what i was looking for in something other than white/black/silver/estoril blue.
Then this one showed up for sale on eBay from a dealer in Ontario. A limited 'M Performance Edition' that was made for the Canadian market, including a few in this amazing valencia orange. it has every option, including many I would never have ordered myself or cared about...but now love, like HUD and those crazy 20 inch wheels that look like flowers. Miraculously, it was way below market price. thirty minutes later I had eBayed the magic car. a few weeks later, after it arrived in the US and having dealt with BMW and CA DMV nonsense, I have this amazing vehicle. i really love it. ...and for now, I am also keeping my e46 (love the manual transmission) ~I have since learned a lot about BMW paint colors, BMW individual, limited editions etc. (mostly from this forum) and now realize how totally lucky I got ~ |

Mind you, not all my previous cars were owned from brand new, but this one so far has had very few issues, all of which were quickly resolved with no cost to me, and it continues to be problem-free and delivers mid-20's mpg around town and 34-36 mpg on the highway. Not bad for a car with 320 hp weighing 3700 pounds. Ride and handling are first-class, especially in Sport mode.

Not the best shot from the side, but I was in a rush. Sorry. I personally think the tints look great with the colour. But I like the whole dark look. Probably end up throwing some black rims on soon to match the black tips on the exhaust
