I'm thinking getting 256 but could settle for 64

I got 256. Most people seem to be going for that. It may actually be faster than the 64 as was the case with the 7 due to Apple using faster flash memory in the larger memory iPhone models

Yeah I had to update mine didn't know they didn't have reachability. Also the latest update fixes the KRACK vulnerability in the WiFi.

I use google photos for unlimited storage, though it lowers the quality of the photos somewhat.

That disappointing. Has anyone tried amazon? Right now I use flickr, but only for my photography photos, not family.

Yep, free with Prime, I keep no photos on my phone.

The X is sweet, just wishied it was little wider tho but thats for next years plus model. Takes some getting used to with the new gestures but easy to learn. Defiantly get 256 why worry about storage and only $150 more when we are driving expensive cars! 4k video at 60fps takes up lots of memory too but the quality is awesome. The phone seems more solid and heavier than my 8plus but thats a good thing to me. At least finally I can use the wireless charger in the armrest! The 8plus wouldn't fit but the X is perfect. Upgrade for sure no negatives !!!

Do the online storage sites allow video and files or just pictures?

me too, doesnt mean I would ever carry it with me everywhere...

like I said years back, a good enough phone will make a lot of items almost obsolete

No kidding. I have 40k lossless songs in the cloud, but just use Spotify on my phone. Not like I'm carrying an external DAC and amp around with me all the time.

I have a lot of lossless music I ripped from CDs or downloaded on my computer and listen on my home theater...

For the phone, I use high bitrate AAC or MP3. I usually just use earbuds or stream bluetooth in the car so no need for lossless.

I just use Amazon Music as it is included with prime for ad free streaming. Sounds fine to me.

This is 17 years of music and movie accumulation. Mostly 128-320 kbps mp3s, and a lot of movies.

has anyone restored their phone from a backup? i've noticed after a few days, my phone is already not as fluid / fast as when new... and it only has 60gb on it out of 256gb taken... this is extremely irritating
