Is Matching Red Door Trim Possible?

I love the deep red color of BMW's dash trim. And I've always wished that it extended to the doors where there is a matching strip of trim. Except on the doors it's black.

I went on EBay and found some supposedly BMW red trim but it doesn't actually match. In person it looks way off. It's much a much brighter red than BMW's. My picture actually makes it look kind of close. In the sunlight, it's embarrassingly brighter.

Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, where did you buy the trim?

Subbed because I'm curious too. I have a red interior so wondering if that's too much.

Aside of the fact that I would rate the coral red leather interior as really disgusting...anyway, whatever rocks your boat and back to the question:
The red accent lines are way more darker and matte appearance against the leather and for my taste those two different types are no match.
For exchange I would suggest, that you search on ebays or at platforms with used car parts. Or, if you know someone with red accent lines into your circle make an appoint and try it out live. The smallest and easiest part to remove would be the left panel beside your steering wheel.
If you plan to exchange the accent lines at the door fairings, thats more work to do, because they are not glued or stucked through pins, but rear side molten at the pin tips to hold at the baseplate.

I just ordered this set from Amazon from a vendor who says that it does match. I figure I'd give it a try and update the forum on my results. Although, shipping time is about 2 weeks.

The picture from the vendor looks promising.

Well, I received my red door trim from the Amazon vendor Xotic Tech. It was a big disappointment. It was also a lighter shade of red than what BMW puts on their front dash.

The trim from this vendor was exactly the same as the cheap eBay trim I tried earlier. The exact same color.

Here is a photo next to the BMW trim.

Maybe for some people it's close enough. But not for me.

Well, on second thought, I may use it anyway even though it's not an exact match. Unless you're looking real close it's hard to tell. Although, my wife thinks it's laughably off.

I really like the red accents on the door. Especially when combined with the Dakota Oyster accents.

Word of warning if you are thinking of doing the same mod. It really mutes the night time mood lighting on the doors. So you have to decide if you want your doors to look cool in the daytime or nighttime. Because you can't have both.

But this shade of red is definitely more close at the coral red leather. That wont help you, but just saying.

It won't if it's an exact replacement, so if that's what happened it's not an exact replacement. Did you swap the optical conductors out of the originals and into the replacements?

Oh, these were cheap overlays. They go over the existing black trim.

I wasn't aware that BMW ever made matching red trim for the F30. I've seen red trim on the F32. And I've seen silver trim on the F30. But red trim on the F30?
