Newbie here, I bought a Android 10, 10.25 headunit for my X1 E84 and fitted it no problem. I have some issues with it , would appreciate if someone can help me

1. Android Unit settings only gives me the option to choose between BMW X5 and BMW 5 series
2. Unable to change from km/h to mph.
3. Also in Reverse camera not able to select AHD Camera

This is controlled via the MCU and LVDS Chip, unfortunately there is nothing that can be modified from software side to brighten it up, as the MCU has not been hacked.
Also from hardware there has nothing been developed yet to modify this.

if you click on Car Info, the screen shows a Clock, nothing else.

anything wrong or somewhere setting wrong?

I think once you replace it back the brightness will get back as well.
The only workaround is to connect to the 10-pin plug your oem screen (you can remove plastic) and hide it near the glovebox. In this case you can increase brightness in Android which increase brightness in oem menu as well.

I've finally figured it out LOL.
My unit's vendor is GS and was set as that under《Factory》
You need to change it to "<client>ALS_6208</client>" in order for the PEMP_ID7_UI GUI to work. I guess it's a specific GUI for that vendor only. If you lose some functionality for your unit, you can always change it back.

Guys i'm losing hoop also, my "Car Device" from my screen is just got replaced by "settings" and i am not able anymore to switch to Bmw settings. Did factory reset, but all my settings i have made doesnt change. is there any chance to get this Car Device-Car Info back?

is it possible to power this unit with Just power, acc, and Ground? or does it require a data signal to turn on. and is this a real android 10 Head Unit.

When it comes to these units you can never be sure what you are actually buying. There seems to be an option to choose Snapdragon 625 which is exactly what you want and what we recommend.

As for powering these units with just 12V from the car, yeah that's possible. But the most important question is: why would you want to do that?!?!?!

I also recall you mentioned this is a problem specifically with a "CIC HD" android screen?

i have a Older Bmw with a Standalone Ecu. and wanted a way to display My Cars data and to do Datalogs.

see this is a android unit i can do it easily on here. and i will be able to add apple car play to the car and have a nice Media infotainment. so i wouldnt be using any of the can data features. music, maps, ecu data.

thats why if it can power on with out can data i will buy and make a mounting platform via 3d printing.

2016 640i is not that old but I presume you are taking about other car you have. Anyways, the unit can be powered up with just 12V so you can use any terminal that wakes up with the ignition. However if you want to use OEM controller you will need CAN bus, not sure how it works with cheap Chinese clone, but it's soooo bad I wouldn't even bother with it.

But I don't understand how you want to do car data and logs without CAN... well saying that, what is possible on "stock" Android CAN communication, there is not much to log or get data anyways. So are you planning to use OBD dongle paired with some app? If so you have 50/50 chances of making this work as Bluetooth is locked on these units.

Yes, this brightness issue is relevant ONLY for CIC + HD android HU.

The unit comes with a protective film that is awful...

Hey guys,
Quick question - I’ve got the 8.8” HU running 2.8.3 installed in an E64. Is there a way to have ZLINK start up automatically after the unit boots up? At the moment every time I turn the car on I need to go to the apps and launch ZLINK manually.

Hi I have two questions.

1) how do I add a Bluetooth gamepad controller to the unit ? When trying to add the controller through the BT app it just says Connection rejected, I have tried pin code 0000 and 1234, the built in Bluetooth settings in Android seems to be disabled and cannot be used. So how do I add a Bluetooth keyboard or gamepad ? My goal is to let my friends run a Super Nintendo emulator with a Xbox gamepad controller.

2) when the engine is off I always have 100% brightness in kswcarproject/android view, but sometimes when driving the screen gets dimmed to maybe 70% brightness and then randomly after a while it gets back to 100%, how can this be fixed ? I want it to be 100% bright all the time. Never mind the oem view.

My head unit is HU_Entry.

Download can be found at Github.

To download click on the green "Code" icon and select "Download ZIP" and download to your Laptop or computer.
Unzip the File into the root of your System for example in a folder called "root", do not unzip it into your Userprofile folder or Desktop !

Connect your Android headunit to the same wireless network as your laptop/computer is connected to.
Start "install-root.bat" and enter the IP adress of your headunit.

Info: do NOT start the batch file ad Administrator, start it normally !

Question number 3) Swedish is missing as a language, where are the language files and is there a translation made already ? If not how can I add another language ? I can translate the English file to Swedish no problem.
