BM3 vs MG Flasher

Hi.

I have 330i RWD B46

List of modifications

BMS intake
ER catless dp
delete muffler

Use 98RON fuel.

Dyno Test Results

bm3 stage2 ots - 257hp
mg flasher stage2 -273hp

I expected more than 280 horsepower, but I'm very disappointed.

Can custom tuning of cary jordan bring higher output?

Isn't the b48 listed at 248hp while stock? I'm assuming the dyno results must be whp and not hp at the crank but I too would think you'd see closer to 280hp on bm3 stage 3 93oct/98ron

Depends on the dyno, its best to compare the delta rather than the absolute numbers.

OP, do you have a baseline dyno? If so please compare the gains of bm3 to stock, its supposed to be ~17% more HP and 28% more TQ.

If its not even close to these gains, i recommend contacting PTF directly.

I've seen videos of mgflasher on the B48 and it's quite impressive. My only concern is the lack of datalogs in the community to understand how the tune in performing.

I’m using MG flasher for more than a year and I’m completely satisfied with it! Great features, good technical support. But the main reason l like it is strong performance of the ots maps. I have raced several other f30 b48 and they were much slower. Also raced a lot of other fast cars and surprised them. I have a lot of videos with racing and dragy test runs on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4x...M8eREbCOvdIZyg
As for bm3 vs MG flasher comparison, I know one guy who moved from bm3 to MG because of better performance. He was using bm3 for a while, than he tried MG flasher, compared them as well as dragy tested both and said that MG is considerably faster, so he stayed with MG.
Here’s my best dragy numbers with st2 ots map.

I saw your car on MG Flasher's Instagram.

Your car was very interesting and made me install the MG.

Simply, I feel that MG is faster than BM3.

But unreliable stability
Because there are too few users.

Has anyone ever used the cary jordan tuned?

What mgflasher map version are you using? You can send your logs to their support so they can tell if everything is fine and maybe could help you with getting more power.

BM3

312hp and much more to follow with other upgrades coming. I saw a 500hp B48 with a bm3 custom tuned bigboost turbo kit on it. That’s amazing for a stock 2L engine

Decided to switch to MGFlasher today. BM3s app was always messing up and I wanted a tune that was focused on the B engines. BM3 feels like we're an afterthought. First thing out of my mouth when I put it down as I got on the highway. Holy F***. I mean....marked difference in power. Drove better. Optimized for xHP which is awesome. Its raining right now which sucks but I can't wait to do some logs. Sorry BM3 but MGFlasher sold me.

Damn, this makes me sad since I couldn't find MGFlasher for the N20

I have a 2016 F30 320i xDrive by the way.

I had BM3 & now I am running MG Flasher. Both tuning platforms have their ups & downs and I am no biased towards any. My previous dyno runs have been in 5th gear, not sure why dyno operator did it in 4th for this pull. I think it effected my torque numbers. This is my dyno sheet in 4th gear on MG Flasher Stage 2 E50 OTS with Downpipe Only.
