Vacuum brake bleeding
Any thoughts on vacuum brake bleeders vs. pressure bleeding units? My car says it wants brake pads in a couple thousand miles, so I'm going to replace my M Sport (gray caliper) system with an orange M Performance upgrade kit.
I bought a Schwaben 6.5 liter oil extractor from ECS Tuning to simplify oil changes on my wife's MB C300. (It makes me wish my B58 had a dipstick.) Since it was only another ten bucks, I picked up the brake bleeder as well. As long as I keep the reservoir topped up, the vacuum bleeder seems like a great way to bleed when I'm done, but I've also read that the ABS system has check valves that can stop the fluid from completely displacing air in the lines. |

I use the Schwaben to do oil changes (not on the bmw obviously) but I have a Motiv brake bleeder to do the brake fluid. It's quick and simple. The longest part is having to jack up each corner. Really wish I had a lift.

pressure bleeding works fine for these cars. Just remember to initialize the "sport brake" option when you add the M-Perf Brakes.
