M3 deal ? Any good ?

Been offered pre reg BMW M3 CP, £4.5K deposit and 48 x £669, was 699 but came down a bit. Decent spec too - Seems pretty good ?
(8K miles PA, which is more than enough for me).
Anyone bought one recently and have figures to compare ?

PM if you prefer ?

Have a look on M3Cutters - there's an active thread on there - I assume you are getting 0% PCP in which case no point in any deposit. Mine was one of the last of the factory orders so not really able to compare but it sounds like you should be able to do a fair bit better - all depends on the spec really... Sounds like you are paying £65k for the car?

Hmm seems fairly standard deal I'd think?

EDIT just checked HJ Chester, could get new for less...but that's not understanding what options are in the car you're looking at. If it's stock, no chance, new deals are better.

My local place is £6k deposit then £599 a month. Considering it a Pre Reg they can do better for you I think.

If £1000 deposit equals about £20 a month then...

Ouch! That seems high.

Mines 18 CP. £10k in and 47x 590 on 12k pa. that's factory order - and specced to £74.5k!

It's manageable. It had low mileage. Decent extra packs. Tech. Comfort. Visibility. Ceramic brakes. Two years ago it would have been handed to us when my wife was contracted as a top dog in BMW. We had a new one every 3 months and she could only keep a car 6 months max.

You can’t get new M3’s any more though can you?

Good financial backing

I could have put zero deposit and paid £800 ish per month or I could have put £20k and paid £400 a month. Either way you cut it - that's what if costs to run an M car.

Thanks for all replies, had a look on M3 cutters too, some very useful info. Will see , but also reckon I need an extended test drive to test how harsh ride would be. Still like the C63 too.

When you have been working since 18 and manage to save at least 5k a year... and you have a father who is incapable of bonding with you as a son so throws money at the problem... your part exchange is worth 4k... anyhow my saving goal for this year is 20k... I read a book by Alvin Hall called You and your money. That book has completely transformed the way I save and spend.

I am less well off compared to some of the guys I work with in the army. Some of them have more money than they know what to do with... one has exchanged on his 4th house... one lady bought a TT RS outright... my brother in law put himself through an education and is going to make a million soon. Then you have your inheritance...

I know the M3 was an expensive move. How much power can you put down on UK roads in daily driving? 150-215 bhp should be sufficient right? I enjoy the feeling of being sat in something powerful. After what happened to the M2 in the off topic forum happened to my 435d... I never felt the same about it. Rebuilt it, modified it and, sold it on.

Never had an M car before. Always wanted one. Test drove an M3 saloon at Barons Farnborough. Fell in love with it.

After putting £7k in to the 335d and having little left at the end then I am now very reluctant to put in large deposits on new cars, and especially not when the interest rates on offer are so low.

My M4 is £750 a month and the deposit was a smidge over a grand, for 12k miles per year.

Whilst the mileage is less than the 335d, it's still less in overall payments by a few thousand pounds over the term!

M3/4s are to our generation what performance fords were to our fathers generation I reckon... affordable!

Fair point mate. Read it as M4 to be honest as I'd disregarded the M3 now it's non production. Obvs the deal I listed was for an M4 CP.

Now and the next 6 months will be a great time for F8X deals. Time for many to itch that scratch. I would strongly advise a test drive.

Tbh if I wasn't paying off debts and the wife worked full time I could probably save £20k a year.

But I still think my wife would leave me if I paid a £10k deposit on an M car!!
