Sound proofing
Have any of you sound proofed your cars? I.e. using dynamat etc, was it worth it and did it improve the perceived sound quality of the HK system?

I think Tengocity did it to his 335d a few years back. IIRC it made a slight difference but wasn't really worth the effort.

Slightly off topic. Anyone remember Lotus i think it was sending noise through the HiFi speakers to cancel out noise?

I have soundproofed my Audi and this improved the sound quality very noticably even before upgrading the sound system (whereas the new one came with additional soundproofing for the front doors and subwoofer). I would be very surprised if it doesn't add value to the sound in the F3x, but I also read somewhere here a post from somebody who claimed it wouldn't or doesn't. Hard to believe, even if the BMW has better sound proofing from factory (which I haven't verified yet).

I tried the sound matting and it helped a bit at low speeds but the racket in the F3x is mostly comprised of wind and tyre noise at speed.

I appears to be still out there. and more so with EV's and their more noticable road noise levels.
