Should I add new turbos at 100k miles?

My car (2013 335i) just hit the 100k mile mark and I've been wanting to upgrade the turbos for a while. Currently its Stage 2 Bootmod tuned with cat-less downpipe, charge pipe, ngk cold spark plugs and at 100k miles I've been debating wether to just stop where its at or go All-in and get the Turbo upgrades for more power. Im sure its running at least 380-400HP currently with the stock turbos. I got quoted $4,200 for the whole turbo upgrade and installation but is it a smart thing to do at 100k miles?

You do know there is only one turbo, right?

Sounds like you want to do it, so you should do it.

That's my advice. If you've already done all those other things, you're not afraid of reliability concerns or increasing/decreasing value. Might as well enjoy it!

FWIW, my N20 turbo wastegate actuator developed a leak at 110k miles and will need a new turbo assembly eventually because the pneumatic wastegate cannot be replaced as a standalone part. Since yours is a 2013 (albeit a 335i), I'm guessing it has the pneumatic wastegate as well. I have seen a few other posts with wastegate issues around the 100-120k mark, so 100k miles is a pretty good time to just change/upgrade the whole assembly proactively if you are keen on doing so.

Yes indeed it has the pneumatic wastegate. I was told that around 100k miles these turbos start going bad so I guess I might have to just pull the trigger on it.
Thank you!

Well known sports apparel / sneaker manufacturer has a slogan which applies to this case. If you plan to keep the car for a while, then this is a decision which has already been justified in your mind.

I’d skip the turbo and donate some of the money to the hungry in CA.
