Lightbulb 225/50R17 or 225/45R18 for Winter

Hello,

I'm looking to buy Winter tires for my 2016 BMW 328i XDrive (M-Sport), what would be better in Quebec Winter weather

225/50R17 or 225/45R18

In my opinion there is no better or worst comparison, as both sizes will do the job equally as well.

You may get a marginally more comfortable ride on the 17's due to the higher profile tire, however if you're choosing to go with Run-Flat tires, then comfort differences will likely be unnoticeable.

I use winter tires for about 5 months in the year, I don't want my car to look like crap for 1/2 of the year, on steel wheels or smaller diameter rims. which is why I chose to go with the 18" over the 17".

17' will cost less, but 18' look better.

An 18 will be fine with that tire. The side profile is high enough to protect the wheel as that's stock spec anyway.
