My nav system is really messed up

I was driving home and I used the sat nav on my 2013 328i with the cic high nav. And on the screen by the gauges it wouldn't display street names. Instead it just gave me this random letters/numbers, but the nav Still Gave me proper directions and the turn by turn was good.

I'm a newb here too but it seems you might be displaying gps coordinates.

Have you coded the car recently or been messing with any settings?

You could always try restating your I drive or updating your maps !

Yeah, the car has been extensively coded but nothing to do with the nav system,
I coded, soft on led headlights
Soft on iconic lights
Video in motion
Auto stop start off
Sport + mode w launch control
Door unlock on power off
Cornering lights
Idrive on until drivers door open
Mph on instrument cluster
Video in motion
Fog lights and high beams can be on together
Rear fog lamps
Speed limiter function on cruise control
Eco pro mode by default
I drive warning off
And some other small things I forget. It was all done on BimmerCode

Easiest way is has Dealer update iStep to latest version which should set most items back to default.

Is updating the Istep the same as the usb flash drive idrive updates Bmw offers from their website?

Can be done with esys, but considering what you've done to your car already, better leave it for a Dealer.

So how much does the istep upgrade cost? And what exactly does it do over a normal software update? Is it like a windows update where it brings new functionality? My car currently has the cic-high idrive with nav/backup cam/sport displays

I'm not your Dealer and I do not set their prices.

Around $300 would be normal.

Wait a minute
There's an option in esys to code the defaults to your modules considering the VO (FA) you have on your car.
This is how I coded the enhanced bluetooth.
Changed the VO temporarily without writing it back to the car, and then I loaded the defaults.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on the proper ECU which you modded => Select CODE (Not Code FDL).
Repeat this Step for all affected ECUs in order to put it back to the state when you bought the car. Then you can re-try coding the stuff

OP screwed the pooch on the simple stuff with Bimmercode.

He'll kill his car on the complicated stuff with esys.

Take it to a Dealer.

not really if he follows the exactly described mouse-clicks like I said.
But yeah, probably better taking it to a dealer.
You can mess really bad with esys if you try out buttons just for fun

Its not that I messed up with BimmerCode, I am well versed in code, it's just that my car has the 2013 nav software and ever since I coded it then drove it in a newly built neighborhood the car hasn't been showing names on the gps. It works, just no names. Regardless of where I am new or old streets

Ok! Bmw dealer did a simple hard refresh and a nav update and for some strange reason it fixed it all my coding is still there! thank you all so much for your help in figuring this out as it was really daunting

Nice.
How much $ did you have to pay for that service?

Offtopic:
Here in Germany, that would probably cost about 600 EUR, and most probably no dealer would touch your car if you coded somethign on it.

I had hella problems with BJMW (was even escalated to Munich' central) because they made shitloads of accusions what everythign I have damaged with my coding stuff (which wasn#t the case, as i did my coding clean and flawless).

Sucks to have a BMW in Germany!

It's no better in the UK. BMW customer services are really appalling to the point I would'nt recomend buying one to anyone.
