On ipad the alt key functions are on the keys and you just slide the key down to use them:

Ah ok, spent ages on my iphone trying to slide.
You could have used the screen record function to make a video instead of a screenshot

If you are having battery issues then try turning off spotlight search now called Siri and search.
I have read that the phone is indexing search content so if you have apps that change such as twitter, messages, email, FB etc then it will have to index more. I also turn of hey Siri so it?s not always listening.
Getting reasonable battery, currently at 15% used most of the day and phone was unplugged at 7:30ish this morning

What should I turn off in ‘siri & search’?

Just had the first day with iOS 11 that I haven’t had my phone charging in the cradle and it’s now down to 4%! Barely used it all day, just one short phone call, 5 minutes of google maps, few minutes of bimmerpost and that’s it, no photos, video, music or internet browsing! Had I been taking calls today it wouldn’t have made it to dinner time!

I turned off

Listen for hey Siri
Suggestion in search
Suggestions on lookup

Then set all the apps at the bottom to off apart for the ones I wanted to use Siri for such as contacts

I also have the following setting
background app refresh off
AirDrop off
Handoff off
Reduce motion on
Share my location off
All apps that I can set to use location while using

It all depends on what options you use though, have you looked what has been using battery by looking at the battery stats

Everything isn?t off just the stuff I don?t use or need.
There are plenty of similar guides and apps that do similar for Android, the majority of battery drain is down to the apps you use. I am a big android fan though but work phones are all Apple, I can?t complain though as I got the iphone8 when it was released, don?t think I will be able to get a iphone x given the 1k price tag.
I agree regarding the change to disconnecting rather than switching Wi-fi off by the control centre is a bad move

That's one feature that works quite well for me. Our works wifi internet is so bad I sometimes switch wifi off as it's faster over a 3G/4G connection. Then when I get home I forget to switch wifi back on and realise I'm using up a lot of my data plan. Can understand why others don't like it though.

I absolutely hate it, it’s made my iPhone go so laggy. What iPad pro are running? Mine still hasn’t had the update on the 9.7.

11.0 seem to be a bit laggy but the latest update seem to have fixed that. I upgraded to the latest Ipad pro 10.5 because my ipad air 2 was having battery issues. Decided to get the apple care + this time and traded in my old ipad as well as getting a corporate discount on the new device and apple care. Also, my credit card gives me an additional year of warranty. The new one is a significant upgrade, seems thinner and lighter, though I did have a case on the old one and it was pretty thin and light without the case as well. Like the larger screen and stereo speakers, A10X processor. Still has the headphone jack and roughly the same size.

Strange, my ipad pro is now on 11.0.2!

So if you go to settings, general, software update, it says it's up to date?

I'm still holding on to iOS 10 until they have ironed out more of the bugs. Interested to know whether this latest release solves the problems mentioned in this thread?
