I seriously considered it, but decided against it, as the ID4 Head Units can reboot when using the OE navigation, and I dont really want to use CarPlay for my navigation as I have a HUD, and often do long journeys.

So wouldn't the id6 reboot? And doesn't the id6 use google maps like the id4 ?

I think what RatPC refers to is when you update to ID5 software without actually changing hardware, if you doing proper upgrade with id5/6 hardware then you wont have problems with reboot from what others saying.

Do BMW use Google Maps for their Sat Navs ?, thought they used 'Here' maps or have i misunderstood your point.

Think the biggest stumbling block is if you want any of the connected drive services to work. If you do then more hardware changes are required and it's much more expensive. If you don't then I have feeling it could just be a case of changing the screen and head unit, possibly a WiFi antenna?

The upgrade would include the hardware and screen.

Does the id4 show land marks in colour? Football stadiums for example?
