Love the range from Lynx to Bedouin - I guess a career in the former enabling experiencing the latter, fantastic!

I even googled it based on the registration as I wasn't 100% sure it was a Lynx - obviously I cocked that up

What's the story behind 'oops'? Did you bin it or someone else/weather?

I have taken thousands of hill pix over the years so I would hate to bombard you chaps with too many. However, I thought this was an interesting one. Kinda mini rainbow thingy (for the Munroists out there I think this was Meall Garbh or An Stuc) -

As the days get longer and we move away from Solar Max, chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis are lessening.
There was a slight aurora forecast a couple of nights ago, so I went down to the beach to see what was happening.
Here's a shot of the very palest aurora almost overpowered by moonlight.
But it was still nice to see.

Thankfully not me this time!

However, the crew ran out of experience and skill just before they ran out of altitude (luckily no major injuries). Location was Crossmaglen, South Armargh. We got there on the follow-up an hour after the spank-in when it was dark and snowing.

Due to the location where they crashed, the only ground access was through a hard-line Republican estate. It was a Sunday (St Paddies day) and Crossmaglen had just won the all Ireland GAA championships so the locals were understandably shitfaced. Add to that the British Army had just plonked a Lynx in their back yard and a riot ensued. They bricked and petrol bombed the ambulances recovering the casualties until the PSNI took control.

Wee little scamps playing....

One of the less damaged Tangis back at Bessbrook Mill

After a couple of days, it got recovered by a Chinook and everyone lived happily ever after....
