Car Play for NBTevo_E??

How would I set up Apple CarPlay with this software? Is it capable?

Hi. I have a late 2015 build that is (or was) running NBTevo_E16382A.

My system was upgraded to iDrive 6 + carplay by Easy Bimmer Coding. The unit only has 2GB but I’ve had no rebooting or crashing issues. It actually works pretty well.

Yes, it is capable. You will need iD4 to iD6 flash + activation of Apple CarPlay.
We have tested and stable solution that works really well without reboots on this headunit.

You will however need a battery tender that can keep the vehicle battery above 12v throughout the 1.5 hour flash along with a Windows laptop with at least 25GB of available space and an ENET cable.

i have a commercial battery Tender

and 2 laptops wit The the available space.

i hav3 a Obd kline cable to usb/otg that i use to flash mhd

i would have to obtain an enet cable

Would this be for the 2016 640i or another vehicle because that vehicle would be on the older NBT system.

That would be NBT and not EVO but you can still replace the HU to have ID6 with Apple CarPlay.

If you upgrade from id4 > id6 do you still retain all functions of navigation, heads up display, and vehicle status/checks (for oil level and tire pressure monitoring system?) Would there be anything that is not functional?

Also is it reversible/traceable by dealer if I were to revert back for warranty issues?

Everything will be functional except BMW Navigation which will trigger reboots because of insufficient RAM memory, but it will still be there. Carplay navigation directions will not be displayed in HUD.

Update only if you plan to use Carplay only for directions.

We've been doing this flash since 2017 and I have personally done this on my own 2016 328i xDrive at the time so as stated above, if you plan on using Waze, Google Maps and Apple Maps as a substitute to the stock BMW system, there will not be any issues.

As others pointed, when using CarPlay Fullscreen it works just fine. No issues, lags, reboot. Problems may appear when using OEM nav.
