BMW F30 RHD to LHD Sport Seats Conversion
Hello everyone!
I have changed my base mechanical front seats (LHD) to the RHD (UK) Sport seats, also mechanical with heating. As a result, when I connected the front seats, I've got a driver and passenger airbag errors. My next steps: I've been coding out passenger seat occupancy mat I installed seat sensors from my LHD seats - part numbers 9243474 and 9243135. So now the car should identify correctly which seat is a "driver" and which one is a "passenger". Airbags presented in RHD seats, so I didn't do anything with them. All electric components should be connected exactly as I had on my old LHD seats, with the exception of the passenger occupancy sensor, which is deactivated. However, airbag errors not go away! If I connected everything correctly - should the errors go away? Or errors stored in the car’s memory? Maybe someone had experience in coding a RHD mechanical seats in a LHD car? I read all topics about RHD to LHD conversion, but didn't find any info about mechanical seats conversion coding. Last edited by Andrew48; 01-22-2020 at 02:28 PM.. |

Most people use their airbags from their original seats in replacement seats.
I'd do that and use the Underseat Electronic Unit from your old seats. I imagine that would likely work without coding anything. |

Airbag errors won't go away on their own, they need manually clearing. So if you've swapped the electrical stuff around then it should be just a case of clearing the codes.
Had this the other day where disconnecting the passenger airbag toggle switch triggered a passenger restraint system warning. Even after reconnecting it the error was still there. Ended up clearing it using Esys and the Transmitter external application to do a reset DTC and it's been fine since. |
