F31 ATM to HU communication issue (no retrofit)
Hi, everyone. I would like to ask for your help. I have F31 MY 2017. From the factory ID5 with LTE ATM (combox). I just bought the car used by the second owner. It does not show navigation. In the HU service menu, it appears entirely without communication. HU does not have a GPS connector. All data should be coming from the ATM. Also, no online services are going. Using ISTA I tested the ATM. GPS 3D-Fixed and online services synchronized. With HU, synchronization of services does not take place. Looks like there is some communication problem between ATM and HU. Connectors are plugged in. The wiring appears to be visually fine. Diagnostics report no problem with the connection. Has anyone solved something similar? Where and how to start? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I assume that the communication between HeadUnit and ATM is via the Ethernet interface on pins 2,3 and 4. I will then route these cables to the HeadUnit unit. Is there any way to verify the ethernet connection between these ECU?

I have tried tool32 "steuern_eth_learn_port_configuration" then in ISTA "save Ethernet configuration" and then test the devices connected via ethernet protocol to HU. ATM test failed. ZGM test passed. The ATM unit generally communicates with Online Services. I verified with BMW that they have up to date data. They can see the GPS position. But it's not sending any of it to HU. I checked the Ethernet wiring with HU. All 3 wires OK. Can you think of anything else to test please?
Thank you very much Jaroslav |
