Hi guys,

I have a 2014 320i M-Sport package with the standard tire size:

225/45/18 Front
255/40/18 Rear

I'm looking to upgrade to:

235/45/18 Front
265/40/18 Rear

Is this possible? It's worth mentioning that I have 12mm spacers in the front and 15mm in the back. Thank you for your help.

Can you fit a 18" 8J ET43 square setup on F30/31 (340i)? Would it rub on the shock/spring?
For winter wheels.

waddup peeps.

i've never done any tire/wheel upgrades myself, and all my vehicles have been fitted thru the dealers or shops and, i just didn't really pay attention to it.

and now i'm attempting to learn so please bear with with me.

car: 2014 f30 328i xdrive
current: 225/45/r18 91v m+s (summer tires)

i'm also looking for my car's tire/wheel oem spec sheet. i found the user manual so far.

1) what's the widest/narrowest tire/wheel combo i could use without making any mods or adding adaptors etc? looking for the min/max range i guess.

2) winter tires: is it better to have smaller and/or narrower rims but higher tire profiles?

i'll prolly have more question, but i think, item 1 would cover most

thanks peeps.

@.BMW

Hey, read through ALOT of your tire recommendations but still didn’t find the answer I am looking for. I have a 16 328i xdrive with the track package, m sport etc. Still keeping the orbit 398 wheels and currently have a square set you with 225 run flats. I want the MPSS, how aggressive can I go and stay within the 1% for the xdrive.

Thank you

I am still slightly confused on my brake package. 2017 440i xDrive M Sport.

Front brakes are Brembo, but gray and unpainted. Rear brakes are single piston gray and unpainted.

Is this the standard brake package? If you upgrade at BMW (M Package), do they only add a painted front set (same caliper type) but upgrade the rears to 2 piston as well?

Currently stock wheels on M Sport 18x8s with Pirellis.

This weekends brake job includes:
Clean and paint all Calipers
Replace all rotors (hoping I bought the right ones since I am still slightly confused)
Replace pads with EDC Reds
Flush brakes

Replace Stock wheels with TSW Tabac 18x9.5 +40 and Michelin SAS3

Photos will come next week

Hey guys,

quick question. I have F31/2017, used, got it on 18" BMW 254 wheels (225/45/18). If I understand correctly, this are 8Jx18 ET30. And according to internet I should have 8JX18 ET34.

https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/in...ting_chart/bmw

Is this OK? Since this wheels are probably from 5 or 7 series? They are really nice though.

The BMW 254 wheels are list for the 2016 5-series and a 7-series car. They have the same 5x120 bolt pattern as the stock wheels for your car. The 254 and say the 400M, which may have come with your car, are both 18x8.0" wheels.

In simplest terms, the offset indicates how much the wheel is pushed in or out of the wheel well. So your 254 wheels having an offset of ET+30 means that compared to the 400M wheels with an offset of ET+34, your wheels stick into the wheel well by 4mm more than the 400M wheels.

4mm is tiny, just a little more than 1/8 of an inch. Very difficult to notice and no fitment issues.

There are many articles if you wish to learn more about offset. Here's just one:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-wheel_guide

Tip: when you eventually need new tires consider upgrading to a wider size on the same wheels if you would like better handling and stability. The widest, best handling on an 8" wheel is 245/40-18. 235/45-18 is also an option. The Continental DWS06 Plus is a very popular all season tire.

Hope this helps!
