Brixton RF7's using OEM 405M sizes?

I'm considering a set of Brixton RF7's but annoyingly I spent £890 on fresh rubber around 400 miles ago.

At the moment I'm running OEM 405M's at 235/35/20 & 255/30/20 - will I get away with transferring the 255's onto a 9j wheel?

OEM 405's are 8j upfront and 8.5j in the rear.. the Brixton guys said I would probably be best running 8.5 in the front and 9 in the rear as 8.5 is the closest they can offer..

What I don't want to end up with however is a stretched look, the 255 pilot sport 4s' on my 8.5j are already beginning to look a little stretched, presumably because I went with 30 profiles..

The fronts and rears are of a similar stretch, and it would be fine for me. However, your rear tires are 0.5" smaller in diameter than fronts. Assuming the wheels are available in various widths and proper offsets, I would most likely:
- fit the 235/35 on 8.5" front rims
- sell the 255/30 rear tires
- take 9.5-10" rear rims, and wrap them in 275/30 tires

Better looks (same diameter front/rear, and wider rear rims and tires), better traction, better ride quality. The only negative is slightly more understeer. Considering the total cost, I would certainly prefer the proper setup over losing £200 (?) on the rear tires...

Just my 2 cents.

btw, really great looking rims

Thanks for the help man.

I'm asking a total newb question here, but what prevents you from running the same width front and rear? Like 8.5 front and rear.. I'm probably asking for trouble knowing how stupid that might sound, but I can't seem to find any info online on why not

Absolutely nothing. You can fit the four same rims fitted with the four same tires. As a benefit, you'll get the possibility of swapping the fronts and rears for even wear. As a negative, the 255 would be your maximum tire width.

Awesome - thanks.

Yeah I hear that, I do run spacers so opting away from those would be beneficial by going up a size too.

I guess I just need to decide on the wheel design now, I was shown the HRE FF11's and as they're in a similar price bracket I'm a bit torn

Well, the high-quality forged or flow-formed (as FF11) rims combined with one of the top-tier (U)UHP tires is the best you can do. When done, share the pics 😉
