Service due before trade in

After having 3 BMW’s out of my last 4 cars I am trading in my 430d M Sport for a Mercedes c coupe. The eta for this is early December but my car is due it’s second service in a week. Mercedes say regardless of whether I service my car or not they will still service it when I have traded it in. Is it worthwhile spending the money putting my car through a service for approx 5 weeks before trade in date ( approx 1000 mile month mileage)?

You pays you money you takes your chances.
If it hasn't been serviced to the book, will this not affect is value for the trade in?

Just financially, I would do the math, if its beneficial to do it, do it. If it aint, don't...

If it needs to be done, do the minimum, so, change oil and filter, and that will be 4 more weeks of happy motoring. I wouldn't be changing brakes etc. Whats that gonna be, £100?

Money is better in your pocket.

The inference of that is they won't be bothered about whether you have it serviced although that seems slightly strange as if they're intending to retail your car on their forecourt I'd have thought it would be better if it had a FBMWSH?

Anyway, think I'd just check whether the lack of a service is going to affect your trade-in value and if it isn't I wouldn't bother (unless of course you feel there's something which needs attention).

Ask them for a trade in value with and without the service.

I'd blow it off. Never had a dealer ask for service records on a trade.

Mercedes don't stick any other cars on their forecourt

They all go to auction...so don't bother just like they won't bother......your car will not suffer without a service up until they take it off your hands.
