Back track it. If the sensor is good then the voltage that is supposed to run through it may not be there. At the socket where it connects, with the ignition on, measure the voltage that should appear across the pins.

In that case check the connector just to make sure the pins are correct and not pushed back?

Not quite worth its weight in gold, but pretty close.

I can confirm that using the Foxwell NT520 allowed me to reset the brake wear warning light. In my case mine read 255% just like the original poster.

Before I bought the Foxwell I took it to the dealer I bought my car at after I had changed the rear pads myself and they said they would have to do a "full mechanical and electrical diagnostic" and probably "upload I quickly walked out, ordered my Foxwell, reset codes. Now it's like I'm driving a new car again! I hate dash lights.

Thank you for this post and thank you Foxwell!

Just bumping this thread since I had this issue as well. Rear pads/rotors were good. I did replace the sensor when I replaced the brakes but I installed a new sensor with no avail. Red brake light, cluster warning and rear brake pad service required.

All gone after using the Schwaben scanner made by Foxwell.

To do the reset;

- connect the scanner
- click on BMW
- enter series, chasis, connect
- service functions
- maintenance
- go to CBS
- rear brakes or front
- reset
