Hey guys, so I recently bought a VRSF Catless DP for my f30 328i n20 car. I am having a hard time finding a straight answer. Currently I have a full straight pipe cat back exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. Sounds horrible i know. Also i have a jbplus piggy back. The question i have is can I install this downpipe without a tune? And will my car run and not go into limp mode? Idc about performance i care about sound and soon i will be getting the awe track exhaust for the car.

Yes you can, but it will just sound worse. And you'll get a CEL

What do you mean worse? Can you please explain because I don’t want to waste my time doing this if that’s the case. I’ve watched all kinds of videos on YouTube and they did not sound bad at all

Well you said yourself it sounds horrible now. Adding a catless DP is going to make it raspy. Unless that's what you're going for.

And also the smell, I always wanted to get a catless downpipe before and I had a catted dp on. I wish I found someone who had a catless to fully know how bad the smell is. Now I'm catless and going for high flow catted after I get my smog done.

I also made the mistake of getting a muffler delete, it's fine at the moment but I'm getting rid of the muffler delete also

Seems like you should just go straight to your goal instead of doing it halfway
