Software updates work for anyone?

Got a 17 GC, when I go to the BMW software update page and put the VIN in it lists up the updates available (which also show in the version drop down on the compatibility)

Download the BIN file, put it on a FAT32 formatted USB, plug it in the car and it just says this update in incompatible with this vehicle.

Driving me nuts. Is it working for anyone else? Wondering if they have fixed the amazon music quirk which means it plays the music in the background when trying to use the phone!

I had this issue, they don’t update the car software that often, so what you have on your car could well be the most up to date.

The compatibility page shows a newer version in the drop down.

And the download it offers is based on your VIN.

Process seems a bit crap tbh.

They stopped these USB updates when the nav systems changed to NBT EVO - anything made in 2017 with pro nav has EVO.

Only way to get newer software is either with esys or a dealer update with ISTA+

And yet EVO allows you to select it in the software.

Must admit, not at all impressed with how poorly coded BMW's media software is...

Yes, it's strange how that is still present in the menu but it's not supported.

By updating the i-step, not something you want to risk DIYing unless you really know what you're doing!

vorphlack can help though.
