Interior trim restoration/repair tips

Common sense preventive measures (that I should not have ignored):

1. Place protective towel on center console trim and around area where you remove the Head Unit. I damaged the paint on my center console (gear shift).

2. Place protective layer on seats and door liners when using a soldering iron. Even if for 10 seconds. Or you burn a hole in both, like I did.

Solutions:

Unless you get a color match at a pro-store and pay the premium, could not find any silver paint that matched the trim. With off the shelf spray cans, the closest I got was about 80%. But the new surface paint got easily damaged with everyday use.

Took me a long time to find a wrap that is about 95-100% (depending on the ambient light) the same as my interior Silber Satin (Silver satin) 9218919 trim.

For upholstery tears/burns/holes this was a 98%-100% solution. I truly could not find the repair spot later, had to look really close to locate a slightly different shading:

I got a crease in my seat that vinyl repair couldn't handle. I tried a piece of this, not expecting much. It's been doing the job for three years, with not a hint of lifting. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1

Thanks! Added it in my "toolbox".
