hi, i’ve been having an issue with no sound coming from my speakers for a few months now. i went ahead and did a software update with ista to try and solve the issue, while the update was processing the sounds came back. radio sounds and gongs. once the update was completed it went back to no sounds again.
before the updates were initiated a diagnostic scan and steps with ista plus suggested a head unit replacement.any help will be appreciated. thanks

Until you mentioned "the sound came back during ISTA+ software update" I was to advise to check your wiring.

Were you updating your HU via ISTA? Original HU? Any error codes in ISTA+?

Last resort: NBT HU's are about $100 on Ebay. But you will need a $25-60 emulator between your HU and the car....or your original FSC codes from your current HU added to the new HU by a coder for a price.

I don't. But I use a $2 ELM327 bluetooth dongle (Ebay/Aliexpress,etc) and Bimmercode. Can also use a $10 ENET cable and Esys, but that's more complicated.

i use the enet cable with ista plus, but i can’t figure it out. ive tried esys but i can’t get it to load. i have ista p if you need it i can share it.
