Brake pads clunking after replacement
Anyone have an issue with brake pads clunking at slow speeds before?
I replaced my pads with EBC Redstuff. I have the Msport Blue brakes and lubed the new pads and checked that the retaining pins are correct... Any ideas? |

Clunking usually means something's loose. The only option is to pull the wheels and find out what. It's not impossible that something's too tight, like the pads in the pad carriers. When you replace pads it's best to pull the carriers and make sure they're cleaned of any rust. You can do a much better job of lubing them when they're off the car too.

When does clunking occur? When i changed my pads they were clunking in the parking lot when I was reversing and then driving off. I checked in the service and concluded that the pads were 1 mm smaller, therefore there was slight movement. After couple of months the clunking went away.

I just had new pads installed by a reputable indy shop and am experiencing the exact same issue (clunking when going from reverse to drive or the opposite). Should this be considered typical and should go away after a some amount of use?
