I have a F30 330e. The car system all works, but no sound. After checking these forum threads, I held down the power button for 30 seconds until the system restarted, but nothing, same issue. So I checked the fuses and found that #123 the 40amp fuse had blown in the boot, so I replaced it, and it blew again straight away.

So I thought I would try and check the amplifier connections and see if there was any water leakage near the amplifier for a short circuit from other wires, but I can't find the amplifier..... I know it sounds silly

All the posts and videos show the amplifier for a 3 series fueled car on the left-hand side of the boot, but on a PHEV the left-hand side is a compartment for the charging cables. Hence, I don't know where the amplifier is located. Can anyone help, please?

Would be great to know if anyone else has had the same issue and what they did to resolve it.

Thanks, I managed to figure it out, it's a little different but essentially the same. See picture.

It seems like my amplifier has gone, what's the best approach tp get my sound back, replace it like for like, or upgrade it to a different amplifier?.... if upgrade, then what amplifier is compatible?

If you're satisfied with the sound find the exact same amp used. They're out there, having been replaced by their owners with better amps, like the MatchUP. There are a number of threads on that subject.

BMW replaced the amp, as I have the BMW extended warranty. They reset everything, and now I don't have CarPlay; they said it was retrofitted, and I have to get it done privately, and they will refund the money.

I'm having issues getting CarPlay back on my ID5 system and I created a new post for it..... I hope someone can help, as I miss my CarPlay
