Dinan 340i springs on back order

Can I just order and use the 335i ones? Are there any differences?

still same chassis so it should fit

That is weird. They have different part number for 340i and 335i RWD but the same part number for the xdrive version

Try asking on the suspension forum.

The closed deck B58, the heavier liquid to air intercooler, and additional pumps and accessories adds about 50lbs to the front end compared to the N55 (335). It's likely that Dinan developed slightly different springs to compensate for the additional front end weight in the 340.

Interesting theory! I guess I'll give them a call and find out.

I wonder what's wrong with the springs in the first place

Also while they probably fit, remember the front strut mounts are redesigned. There's a small chance the springs do not fit. Not worth the risk for sure. Generally springs are tuned for a specific car. I'm sure if there is a 50lb difference in the engine it really wouldn't make much of a difference, but you might as well get the right part.

If you find out please report back. The shop put an order in over 2 months and I don't know how much longer I can wait.

Read from another thread yesterday regarding this and they were saying how there is a manufacturer quality control issue so I don't see it shipping out anytime soon.

Do you have a link for this? I'm curious what quality control issues they are having. I'll be a little hesitant if it's something serious.

I don't but you can probably find it if you dig through the forums. Quite a few people were saying the same thing about the quality control issues.

Thanks. I'll try to search a bit regarding this. But I did contact Dinan and they told me it's not on sale, no ETA, and may be a few months. I'm not in a rush but now I may consider going with H&R with shorter bump stops.

Im debating the same thing. Only thing is, HnR offers either a less than one inch drop or more than inch drop (Sport v Super Sport). I really liked Dinans middle ground of one inch exactly.
