BMW Excess Wear and Use
Dealership in trying to sell this add in advises that "I would estimate that about 97% of our clients invest in the coverage and enjoy the worry- free turn-in process at lease end."
Is that true? 97% of you pay the $1200 (price in Canada) for it on leases? |

I didn't. The sales guy didn't even mention it. As a matter of fact, he didn't try to sell me any additional crap, except for tint, which I gladly bought.

I have it because this is my first lease and I'm a bit paranoid. The extra $20 a month isn't bad as it does give you peace of mind.
How are the dealerships during for lease returns? If my inspection isn't too bad at the end of this term, I probably won't opt for it next time. |

I didn't. this is my first lease. It seems foolish to buy that. it doesn't take care of tires, excess mileage or things that really matter in a lease. you can always have dings pounded out yourself on the cheap.

I don't know about BMW Canada, but BMW FS USA is super cool on lease returns. $1200 is a lot of damage for a lease return. I don't believe (unless you really jack up a car) will you ever get $1200 in lease damage fees.
I just returned my daily beater e90 328i about two months ago and it had a few scrapes, curb rash and a few small scratches. The dealer looked at it and said $0 - sign here. That's it. Now go take delivery of a new car. |
