B38 1.5L 18i Engine Tuning - JB4 or Else?
Good Day Bimmers,
I was researching the tuning options on the 3 pot smallest BMW engines (have it under the hood of my F56 MINI) and nothing '' significant '' is around for this engine, though it's been in the market for almost 3 years.. I would like to know what's the best options to boost power from 100 kw (136hp) and get more torque, Thanks... |

Not sure tuning the 3 cylinder would amount to much. I especially wouldn't do a Beta tune on it or any car. But I can imagine that since it's not the enthusiast fist choice of engine that there won't be too much out there for it

But for the 1.5 3Cyl engine, it can be tuned to produce up to 230hp (same as the i8) The stock version on a MINI still giving some good performance (compared to the F30 320i for example) Yet it still feels slower than it should be Thanks for the feedback

Hello again, same topic ..
Now DINAN released this piggyback simple boost controller (1 sensor installation) http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...6-b48-engines/ it seems like if it comes from Dinan then it's reliable and cost is reasonable for the gains claimed |
