is a upgraded turbo outlet pipe needed if im getting a upgraded charge pipe
As the title states, im going to upgrade my charge pipe due to it developing a slight boost leak barely before 24 hours tuned lol. as stated im going to upgrade my intercooler as well but while looking at the option (in the photo) it shows an option for a turbo outlet pipe, I was wondering is a turbo outlet pipe needed or not?

Not needed, but if you are ever going to do the TIC pipe, the labor overlaps with IC, so now would be the time to do it.

might as well do the rest while everything is apart. i'd get the turbo inlet/intake pipe and the turbosmart diverter valve done as well. |

Yes, my MAD Race Intercooler was installed. A quick log that I did looked promising. But then I had stock EKP overheating issues that I just solved with a Stage2 EKPM3 from ET3 Design.
Just filled up with E85 minutes ago. Expecting super hot weather in the 90’s next week. I want to collect some logs with high ambient temperature on E85 with Bootmod3 FlexFuel MultiMap Stage2+ tune from 1st through 5th gears. That’s about the most stress my car with a stock N55 EWG turbo can generate for an intercooler. |

Do you have this exact combo? I have FTP pipes already and am thinking about swapping from my VRSF to the MAD race... want to confirm no fitment issues with this combo.

It's also called the Boost pipe and turbo to intercooler pipe - it fits on the other side of the intercooler.

1. Bare minimum would be do IC+CP combo. 1a. The IC+CP you posted isnt very common, and a potentially better/cost effective option to consider is the Mad Race IC and FTP CP. 2. If you want to "do it while you are in there", you can consider installing the TIC (aka boost pipe aka turbo to intercooler pipe) at the same time. FTP also makes one of these i believe. 3. Similarly, if you have the TIC out, its easier to install a turbo inlet and/or DV upgrade. Personally, i would highly recommend a turbo inlet no matter what else you do - get the CTS or MST v2 (they are identical designs). I am still stock DV, but if you are going to do a DV, it requires removing the turbo inlet so once again labor overlap. You can see how this easily snowballs, so just decide how far you want to go with your budget. |
